Simple Ways to Love the Lord & Others: Devotions for Girls (I Am Available)

DAY 1 OF 5

Have you heard of the phrase, "God and me time"? In the fiction series for girls, Daniels Sisters, “God and me time” is a phrase the sisters talk about. It means having alone time with God. When we are available by making time for God, He works in our hearts.

We might have to wake up ten minutes early to make time to pray and seek God, but when we do that, we are making ourselves available to God, and being like Jesus.

Mark 1:35 (NIV) tells us that, “Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and slipped out to a solitary place to pray.” Jesus often took time to slip away to pray. He prioritized praying.

Reflection:

When do you like to spend time with the Lord?

If you don't have a specific time, is there a time of day that works best for you to pray and read God's Word?

What does Jesus taking time to pray tell us about the importance of prayer?

Prayer:

Lord, thank you that I am available. Help me to make time for You consistently. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Action:

Set your alarm 10 minutes earlier to be available to God this week and have some “God and me” time.

About this Plan

Simple Ways to Love the Lord & Others: Devotions for Girls (I Am Available)

These devotions for girls share simple ways to love the Lord and love others. Each day will help girls be more available to the Lord through loving Him and others. These devotions are based on the "I am Available" chapter from "I am Yours: Prayers For God's Girl" by Wynter Pitts. Each devotion has a short teaching, reflection question(s), prayer, and action step. On their own or with a parent, girls can enjoy connecting with the Lord and growing in their faith a day at a time!
