God’s Chosen Instruments

Acts 9:15, 16
“…the Lord said,…‘This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.’”

God sometimes choses instruments for his mission, who are not yet saved. God knew the future potential of Saul and interrupted his journey to reveal the resurrected Christ to him. We must remember that it is God’s mission and his chosen instruments which are effective, rather than our missions and our methods. When we surrender our will to God’s will and seek his pleasure not our own or that of others, we find freedom and blessing. The instruments of mission in God’s hand that carry his name are not spared suffering or pain. However, we can be assured of God’s presence and eternal reward for choosing his purposes for life and not our own.

Father God, thank you for your call on my life. I offer myself today for your mission purposes.
