We all have different things we’re afraid of—spiders, heights, and public speaking, just to name a few! But there is one fear most of us have in common: being rejected. Rejection is such a huge fear because one of our greatest desires is to know we belong. When others turn us away or make us feel like we don’t fit, it can seem to confirm our greatest fear. 

But the apostle John tells us when it comes to God’s love, we never need to fear rejection. In fact, God’s love for us has the power to eliminate fear because it’s perfect. It won’t fail us, won’t leave us, and certainly won’t reject us. No matter what you’ve done or where you come from, you can rest assured that because of God’s perfect love, you have a place to belong. This week, memorize this verse and set an alarm to remind you to pause and say it to yourself.
