May 4 – The Sufficiency of The Scriptures
The sufficiency of Scripture means that the Word of God contains everything necessary for life, godliness, and spiritual growth. It provides complete guidance for knowing God, living rightly, and fulfilling His purposes. Nothing essential is missing from what God has revealed in Scripture.
This matters because it directs where believers should look for answers. Instead of depending on human philosophies or endless opinions, the believer finds direction in the Word. Scripture equips, instructs, and prepares a person for every good work. It provides clarity in both spiritual and practical matters.
When the sufficiency of Scripture is ignored, people begin to search elsewhere for what God has already provided. This leads to confusion, dependency on external voices, and spiritual instability. A believer who does not trust in the sufficiency of Scripture will constantly feel incomplete and uncertain.
DAILY EXERCISE
List three areas where you have been seeking answers outside Scripture. Find one verse for each area that provides guidance.
PRAYER
Father, thank You because Your Word is sufficient for my life. Help me to trust in its completeness and to rely on it daily. I pray for families, students, leaders, and believers across Nigeria, that they will find direction and stability in Your Word. Lord, we ask that across nations, people will turn to Your Word as the source of truth and guidance. Strengthen the Church worldwide to depend fully on Scripture, and let Your wisdom prevail globally.
CONFESSION
God’s Word is sufficient for me. I have all I need for life and godliness through Scripture.
