More Than Words - the Transforming Power of Prayer

DAY 13 OF 14

God Already Knows What You Need

Do you have a relationship with Jesus? I’m not talking about having religion. It’s not about a building or legalism or rules. It’s about a personal relationship with someone to whom you can talk as a friend. Jesus Christ is the best friend you will ever have. He’s the Lord and Savior of the world, but He’s also your friend, and He wants to communicate with you daily. He wants to have a personal relationship with you. The way you do that is by praying, speaking to Him as if He were sitting in front of you, and telling Him what is going on in your life.

God already knows what’s happening in your life, but He wants to hear it from you. He invites you to have an intimate relationship with Him. He wants you to tell Him about your struggles and your successes. God already knows what your needs are, but He wants you to have the faith to share them with Him. Your relationship goes both ways. When you speak to Him, He hears you. He knows your voice and He hears your requests. But He also knows what His will is for your life. Even as you speak to Him, listen for His voice in reply. He speaks in many different ways, and He answers every prayer according to His will. In Matthew 11:28 (NIV), we read, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Are there things going on in your life where decisions need to be made? Have a talk with Jesus. Tell him what’s on your heart. Tell Him about the burdens you’re bearing and the decisions you have to make. God already knows what you need, but He loves to hear it from you.

Ask Yourself:

Am I honest with Jesus and myself about each and every situation in my life?

About this Plan

More Than Words - the Transforming Power of Prayer

Prayer is more than asking—it’s how we draw near to God, hear His voice, and walk in His peace. Over 14 days, you’ll learn to pray continually, approach God boldly, build a daily rhythm of solitude, use the ACTS framework, praise through pain, “pray your day,” seek wise agreement with others, and trust Jesus with every decision. Come closer as a friend of God—and be changed from the inside out.
