Jesus Take Over!
Have you ever lost control of your car while driving? Maybe you hit a patch of ice or your car began to swerve, and you realized you were heading for danger. The most effective prayer in that instance is, “Help me, Jesus!”
You can easily start moving away from God’s direction. It can happen gradually. You start spending less time in prayer. Maybe you stop reading your Bible because you don’t wake up in time. Soon, you start making decisions without asking god for His wisdom and His direction. It doesn’t take too long before you realize that you are traveling down a road that you never intended to take. Soon, you realize that you are losing control of your life. When you realize that you are on the wrong path, cry out to God immediately and ask Him to take the wheel. Ask Him to take over the direction of your life and to give you the strength and the discipline to get back on course. Don’t wait until it is too late and you find that your car is in the ditch.
Today’s reading in Proverbs tells us that we need to trust in the Lord with all of our heart and not lean on our own understanding. We need to acknowledge Him in all our ways. That means that we need to be praying about every decision in our lives. And what does He promise when we do this? He promises to direct our paths. When we ask for God’s wisdom in all areas of our lives, we know that our future will be secure and filled with hope.
