Long Awaited: Prophecies of the Savior's Birthનમૂનો

SHEPHERDS WORSHIP HIM
DESERT TRIBES WILL BOW DOWN BEFORE JESUS | PSALM 72:8-11
In Psalm 72, King Solomon asked God for guidance during his kingship. Solomon acknowledged that his earthly reign could not compare to God’s heavenly, eternal kingship. Solomon spoke of a future king, one sent by God, who would rule from sea to sea.
Solomon stated that desert tribes would bow before this king, mirroring the image of the shepherds in Bethlehem. Additionally, Solomon wrote that kings of foreign nations would present him with gifts, foreshadowing the arrival of the wise men and their lavish gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
THE SHEPHERDS WERE THE FIRST TO HEAR THE NEWS OF JESUS | LUKE 2:8-15
In a field near Bethlehem, shepherds keeping watch over their flocks were visited by an angel. The angel brought “good news of great joy for all people,” telling the shepherds that the Savior was born, and He was wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
For temple sacrifices, the newborn lambs would be wrapped in swaddling clothes to remain blemish-free and maintain purity. The shepherds, familiar with this practice, knew the significance of Jesus as the lamb of God who came to take away the sins of the world. The shepherds went to visit Him in Bethlehem; upon seeing Jesus, they praised God for sending their Savior.
The shepherds represent the humble people and the outcasts who first worshiped Jesus, illustrating that the good news is truly for everyone.
In John 10:11, Jesus referred to Himself as the “good shepherd” and taught that good shepherds are willing to lay down their lives for their sheep. On the cross, Jesus demonstrated this truth by giving His life for the salvation of all believers. The Good Shepherd brings good news!
This Christmas, imagine new ways to approach Christ with awe and meditate on His good news of great joy.
