UNCOMMEN Change: Being A Man For All SeasonsExemple

Day 4 - Finding Satisfaction in Your Work
Yesterday we talked about embracing change. But one thing that is a constant for the majority of people is daily work. Following education, the average person will work 45-50 years. That number seems only to be rising because of the cost retirement requires. In Ecclesiastes, Solomon offers some advice in Ecclesiastes 3:13 for daily work:
“A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God.”
At first glance, it’s easy to read this verse and think that we should be more “satisfied in our work.” But if we look more closely it says we should “find satisfaction” in our work. There’s a big difference here worth noting. The first statement is conditional. It relates more to a feeling or emotion. The second statement is a choice. We are called to choose to find satisfaction in our work. Not be more satisfied with it. Let’s face it; work can be challenging on many days. It's frustrating, and it can often be disappointing. But we always can choose to find satisfaction in our work even when that is difficult.
Uncommen Question: How can you choose to find satisfaction in your daily work? What are specific ways you can do that this week?

À propos de ce plan

Seasons change; it’s a certainty of life. In Ecclesiastes Chapter 3, Solomon offers a much different perspective on what it means to be a man in all seasons. In this study, you will learn from Solomon that life with all its various seasons, gives us opportunities to draw closer to God. We will discover that God has perfect timing, He makes all things beautiful in time.
