Why Worship When You Are Hurt

Jour 6 sur 6

"When you experience the most bitter hurt in your life, worship God." It's crucial never to let our hearts become bitter when we face suffering. We fall into a trap when we distance ourselves from God during times of pain, suffering, and hurt. What is this trap? It's the trap of "bitterness against God." Why is it called a trap? Because those bitter moments can lead you to forget God, disobey His Word, and ultimately rebel against God and His Will. What we must do first is understand that God is Sovereign, and His plans are good for those who love Him. Recognize that God has allowed this for a purpose. When we don't understand, we should wait reverently and patiently. This is where many people jump to conclusions and gradually fall apart. Psalm 27:14 says, "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." Is waiting on the Lord so challenging that it requires such strong words? "Be strong and take heart" are words often found in combat situations, like a soldier's motto. You may feel at this moment that your life is regressing, struggling, and battling with pain, suffering, and hurt. Don't give up! Trust that God will come through. As you begin to worship God when you go through the most bitter hurt in life, He will start performing a soul surgery, healing you, and giving you a new heart that brings glory and honor to Him. In Psalm 13, David starts in discouragement and despair but finishes in a place of trust, joy, and encouragement. "Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." (Psalm 30:5) Amen. Remember what our Lord Jesus promised us, "Jesus said to his disciples, 'In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33) Prayer Dear God, help me to forgive and move on in my life. I need Your Grace, Wisdom, Strength, and Favor. Amen.
