How to Learn & Grow Together: Encouragement for the Weary Homeschool MotherExemple

Where Do You Go for Help?
A couple of years into our homeschool journey, we hit a tough year, not particularly related to teaching my children, but one where various life circumstances rolled into our path, which brought heartache, distraction and confusion.
One early morning, after not sleeping well, I crept downstairs in a desperate plea to find answers, to somehow know what to do with what we were facing. I slumped by the bookshelf in our dining room and grabbed a well-known Christian book about a family that had recently been recommended to me. I figured this might tell me what to do. As I frantically flicked through the tear-stained pages, I felt God’s gentle voice telling me to “put it down.”
As I put the book back on the shelf, God brought a specific Bible verse to mind that spoke right to our situation. The Bible tells us the Holy Spirit brings all things back to remembrance, and in that instance, the Spirit connected me with a verse I had learned as a child. At that moment, I knew I’d lost my gaze upon the God who loved and cared for me; I’d forgotten where my help came from. It was time to repent, realign my eyes to His, and receive what He had for me.
Encouragement
If you’re struggling today, before grabbing the phone, the blog, or the book, remember where your help comes from. He truly does have everything you need.
