WEEK 5: FEAR GOD
THE WATER OF HIS WORD
Read and meditate on Psalm 19:9, Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 1:7, Proverbs 14:26-27, Proverbs 15:16. What do you learn about the fear of the Lord?
REFLECT
Stop and think. Ask, Am I living on the truth? Am I walking on the truth? Is truth my Lord, or is it feeling? Am I going to believe my feelings, relying on my own insight, or am I going to believe God and His word? Choose this day whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15). Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:9-10).
Ask the Lord to bring greater understanding to you during the next few weeks. What does He want you to do with what you have studied? What needs to change in the way you think, act, respond, or schedule your week? Is there a Scripture He wants you to take to heart? How can you put this into practice? Bring this all before the Lord in prayer.
FOCUS THE EYES OF YOUR HEART
Recite Galatians 2:20 from memory.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
