Don’t Take Life Too Seriously
I have fond memories of my mom playfully karate-kicking my brother, sister, and I in the legs whenever we’d mope around the house.
It’s memories like this that have stuck with me for a lifetime as a reminder to never take things too seriously. It’s not that my mom wasn’t empathetic to whatever us kids were dealing with; she was simply reminding us that, whatever the situation, it was temporary and could be passed even more quickly by being playful and less serious.
As I’ve grown my relationship with God, my Heavenly Father, I can see He parents the same. All throughout the Bible, we’re reminded to find delight and that, even when we’re facing hard times, God wants us to find joy amidst the suffering and seriousness.
Key Takeaways:
- Remember your situation is temporary, but God’s goodness is everlasting
- God is a Father who wants us to have joy
- While we’ll face hard times, God shows us that we can have joy amidst grief
Prayer:
Thank you, Father, for seeding my life with joy and constant reminders of Your goodness. I pray that I may always have eyes to see you at work, in both happy and trying times.
