Please read the Gospel of Luke 1:29-33,

31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.

Some theology here. In just 2 verses, the angel declared the origins and genealogy of Jesus.

Jesus is the:

• Son of Mary
• Son of the Highest
• Son of David

As the Son of Mary, we see the humanity of Jesus – the Son of Man.

As the Son of the Highest, we see the deity of Jesus – the Son of God.

As the Son of David, we see the heritage of Jesus – the King of the Jews.

What does it mean for us?

It means Jesus can understand us humans… our struggles and hurts.

As the Son of God, Jesus has all power and authority. He is the only sinless perfect one who can die for us on the cross to redeem us.

Today, let's go from theology to thanksgiving. Right now, let’s thank Jesus for what He has done for us.
