Thriving in IsolationExemple

PRAY THE WORD
Prayer is more caught than taught. The best way to learn to pray is by praying (especially with others). That being said, the Scriptures are a powerful tool to learn how to pray. When we pray, we talk to God. When we speak his Scriptures back to him, we know that we are praying in line with what he has already revealed. As we do this, his peace, which transcends all understanding, guards our hearts and minds in the Lord. If you don’t know what to pray or how to pray, you are in luck because God has provided a whole book of spiritual prayers and songs for us in the Bible, the Psalms!
After doing your SOAPS (c.f. Days 1 and 2) through today’s reading, try this during your prayer time.
- Read a verse or a phrase.
- Reflect on what you read in silence for at least 30 seconds, asking God to impress it on your heart.
- Rewrite the phrase in your own words as a prayer back to God. Make it your own!
- Repeat that process until you go all the way through the section of Scripture.

À propos de ce plan

Whether it is sickness, stage of life, or disaster that quarantines you to your home, isolation can be devastating. We are communal people made in the image of a communal God, but isolation can also be a gift. How do you spiritually grow and even thrive in isolation? How do you learn to spiritually self-feed?
