Free from Shame

No one is as compassionate and merciful as our Lord. He never pushes us away, even in our greatest sin. The enemy loves to remind us of our past and habits that we’re still working on. He wants to clothe us in shame so we’ll believe the lie that sin and failure define us. But Jesus not only holds the answer—He is the answer. Everything we need to live in victory is found in Him. When we truly crave freedom, He’ll never disappoint.

Jesus has dug up the roots of our past and burned them in a holy inferno of love. Wrong choices become launching pads to discoveries of His love and mercy that we wouldn’t know any other way. Our past doesn’t define us. Shame is not our portion. We’ve been defined by the price of love.

Jesus, when all I see is my failure, you pull me close and wrap me in your righteousness. Even if I were to reject you, your love would remain. Fill every void with the fullness of who you are. Heal the wounds in my soul and strengthen me by your grace. Today I break my agreement with shame and choose a life of freedom in you.
