Heaven’s Wisdom
James 3:17, 18
“…the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.”
Wisdom can often be confused with intelligence. However, God’s wisdom is primarily expressed in character and in a life that serves others. This counter-intuitive definition of wisdom requires the transforming power of the Holy Spirit to be developed in our lives. Living with purity, peace, humility and love, evidence heaven’s wisdom in our lives. God’s wisdom develops peacemakers who sow in peace. They plant seeds of reconciliation and justice in the lives of others through their stories and thoughtful comments. In a crisis or conflict it is God’s wisdom and peacemaking nature that is required.
Lord Jesus, grow your wisdom in my life that a harvest of righteousness would grow, for your glory.
