Self-reliance is a sin that seems so quiet that we don’t even realize it’s a sin.

Why are we so independent?

We want control

In seeking control, we make our own abilities our god.

Jesus says stop feeding the problem and start following me.

When you surrender to Him, he takes care of your needs. He is your source.

We want to control the situation because we don’t trust God.

Did God really say that?

You’re relying on second-hand knowledge and ultimately second-hand faith

Independence looks like seeking control

Because we don’t trust God

What is dependence?

He supports our physical body

He keeps our spiritual being

Dependence is surrender.

God is the main character

Dependence is relationship
