Sermon Series: Kingdom People
Sermon Title: Blessed are the merciful ones.

Jesus has been teaching us that there are blessings attached to unexpected people. The Poor, those who mourn, the hungry and thirsty.

What does it mean to be Merciful and how can we grow in this characteristic of Kingdom People?

Greek word "eleemon." Merciful

Get right inside another person so as to see with his eyes, hear, feel, think.
More than just pity.

To try to understand where someone really is to see it how they see it and have compassion!!

This is exactly what Jesus did!

This is what incarnation is all about. That he came down to be like us to feel how we felt and see what we see.

He knows what physical pain is like to the highest degree, betrayal, lies, hate and false accusations.

He understands.

We must see the lost and dying people of the world and have compassion for them or it will be very difficult to have a burden to reach them with the Gospel.

To feel what others feel! The brokenness of people should move your heart to compassion!!

A lack of compassion shows the evidence of a hardened heart.

Your prayers can help you stay compassionate!!!


Pray for those you struggle to have compassion for,

You're not allowed to reason your way out of being merciful.

Compassion must move to action!

Caring is the first step then you need to try to do something about it!!

There's action involved with Mercy.

The broken people and the needs of certain people that you can meet are your responsibility.

If God lays something on your heart simply obey.

We must also show mercy to to others who have wronged us.

How many times must we forgive? EVERYTIME

Forgiving from the heart doesn't men you're supposed to be best friends with people again. It means to release them from your judgement and learn to have compassion for them.

A true repentant heart is a merciful heart!!

Our lives are declaring who we are. Are we merciful?
