Sermon title: Prayer Builds Intimacy

Spiritual intimacy is an invitation to draw near to God and experience His presence, love, and guidance. It is not about rituals but about cultivating a relationship where you trust, love, and align your life with Him. We can cultivate this through PRAYER!

Hannah was desperate for God in her prayer life. Her desperation built intimacy.

She turned to God with raw honesty instead of turning away from Him. True intimacy with God begins when we are authentic in His presence, being vulnerable. Like Hannah, we must bring our deepest pains, fears, and desires to Him without pretense. God already knows your heart but He desires your openness.

Prayers of Praise and Thanksgiving - Gratitude fosters intimacy with God by reminding us of His goodness and keeping our focus on Him rather than just His gifts.

Moses had friendship with God in his prayer life. His friendship built intimacy with God.

It’s not just asking God for things, it’s about building a friendship. It was built from consistent, honest and humble prayer. He poured out his heart to God and allowed God to respond.

Moses' humility and obedience let him into an intimate relationship with the Lord.

Anna was devoted to God in her prayer life. Her devotion drew her to a deep place of intimacy with God.

Because of her closeness she was able to recognize Jesus as the Messiah when He was brought to the temple - she had discernment “. When we know Him we will be able to discern His voice.

Paul was dependent on God in his prayer life. Prayer was central to his relationship with God.

He taught the Ephesian believers how to pray in Ephesians 1 & 3. When you teach someone else something, you have to believe it for yourself.
