When You Don't Get a Miracle, Be One!

We are reminded in scripture that in this world, there will be tribulation.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NKJV

Being a Christian does not exempt us from life. Part of living is learning to swim when it seems we are going upstream. In other words, we all face unfortunate situations that we must deal with. How we choose to handle them determines the outcome.

For those of you who have followed my devotionals, know that my late husband was a four-quarter amputee losing his arm and shoulder to bone cancer, which eventually took his life on Earth eight years later. Dan wanted his identity to be that of a believer!

Nick Vujicic, born without arms or legs, has inspired millions worldwide. He made this profound statement:

“When you don’t get a miracle, be one!”

WOW! He has been a constant miracle of God, encouraging countless people and saving souls through his ministry.

Your misfortune can become a priceless message, encouraging others who need to learn from your experience. Learning endurance and persistence is a huge part of this boot camp on Earth!

“And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Romans 5:3-4 NKJV

So often, we want to throw our arms in the air and give up, but we can’t do that. “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” James 1:12 NKJV

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2-4 NKJV

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for showing us endurance through the cross. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
