Finding the WordsNäide

Dear Lord Jesus,
We praise You that You are always the same: yesterday, today, and forever. You are not growing in character, because You are eternally holy and perfect. You are not growing in knowledge, because You are omniscient. You are not growing in strength or stature, because You are omnipotent.
If we remain the same, it is a curse. Thankfully, by Your grace, You grow us and sanctify us, and one day will translate us into glory. However, You staying the same is a blessing. You are eternally good and loving and faithful, and we can build our lives upon the firm foundation that You are, our blessed cornerstone.
And so, dear Lord, we come before You today and confess that though You are constant, we sometimes can drift away from You. Like the church of Ephesus, too often we have abandoned our first love for You - allowing our faith to be merely ceremonial and creedal and not true conviction. Also, like the church of Laodicea, we too often are lukewarm in our walk with You - attempting to blend in with our world instead of shining Your light in the darkness around us. Lord, we confess these sins, and ask for forgiveness for Christ’s sake.
And Lord, we ask now that You would warm our hearts today and tune our lives to sing Your grace. You are the fount of many blessings to us. May we build our lives upon You today.
In the name of the One who never changes - AMEN
About this Plan

Ask many Christians about their prayer life, and they will admit their struggle to find the words to pray. For thousands of years, liturgies have helped believers articulate words in their communication with God. This collection of 30 prayers (and the Scripture behind them) is designed to improve our prayer lives as we allow God's Word to populate our words in prayer.
