Finding the WordsNäide

Dear Lord,

We come before You this morning and acknowledge that You own all things. When there was nothing - in the time that we know of as “the beginning” - You were there, and You alone. You created all things, and all things exist for Your purpose.

As we remember this, dear Lord, we are reminded that everything we have has been given to us by You. The opportunities we see each day are opportunities You have given to us. The gifts and talents we possess are also given by You. The places where we live and work and play, and the relationships we form in all these venues, are also gifts from Your hand. And the resources You have given us (things and money) also come ultimately from You. This is Your world, Father, and by Your grace we are living in it.

Knowing that You are the author of it all, we want to take a moment to thank You for Your provision for us individually and as a church. Thank You for Your provision for today and a bright hope for tomorrow. And knowing that You are the owner of it all, we recognize our role in stewarding Your resources while we are on the earth. May You give us wisdom and discernment as we live and recognize the many opportunities You place before us to partner together in Your work.

We thank You for being our all in all, and we long to one day hear You say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” when we see You face to face in eternity.
