Finding the Words

DAY 29 OF 30

Dear Lord Jesus,

We praise You today that You are the God who has won the victory. Our hearts are glad as we remember all that You have accomplished and all the blessings You have extended to us - not on the basis of our works, but on the generosity of Your grace.

We confess that we all have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. We fall on Your mercy and love and ask for forgiveness as we turn and follow You. Thank You for Your death on our behalf that grants us the reconciliation we need with God, and thank You for Your provision of Your all-sufficient merit that You have extended to all who trust in You. THANK YOU.

And so, dear LORD, we pray that we would live differently as a result of who we are in You. That in a cynical world, we might be people of hope. In a critical world, we might be people of grace. In a cold world, we might be people of love. In a dark world, we might be people who shine a light. In a world of deception and error, we might be people of the Truth. In a world that looks out for number one that we might be an uncommon people that look out for the ones others have forgotten. In a world careening toward judgment, that we might point the way to salvation.

We thank You for how You have equipped us to be Your salt in this world. May we season all our conversations with You.

In Your transformative name we pray, AMEN

About this Plan

Finding the Words

Ask many Christians about their prayer life, and they will admit their struggle to find the words to pray. For thousands of years, liturgies have helped believers articulate words in their communication with God. This collection of 30 prayers (and the Scripture behind them) is designed to improve our prayer lives as we allow God's Word to populate our words in prayer.
