God of GenerationsNäide

A Legacy of Faith
“Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.”—Psalm 145:4, NLT
I grew up in a home where faith in God was the center of our lives. My parents taught me to pray, read the Bible, and trust in God. I didn’t just hear what my parents said, I also saw the principles of faith reflected in their example at home.
Psalm 145:4 reminds us that faith is not something to keep to ourselves but a legacy to pass on. We are called to tell our children about God’s power and mighty acts in our life. In our Hispanic culture, we deeply value family and the inheritance we leave to our children. Sharing about our amazing God and being a faithful witness to them is an important spiritual inheritance we get the honor to leave. God has called us to be bridges between generations, ensuring that the fire to know and follow God continues to burn in the hearts of those who come after us. We are charged with telling “about your [God’s] mighty deeds and about the majesty and glory of your [God’s] reign” (Psalm 145:12, NIV).
How we live today with God at the center of our lives will impact our children and grandchildren. And it’s not just about our story. The inheritance we get to leave for our children is God’s story written through us. Go leave a legacy of faith.

Who in your life reflected God through the way they lived? How are you passing on your faith to the next generation?
Lord Jesus, thank You for the heritage of faith I have received. Please help me to be a living testimony of Your love and to guide future generations to Your truth. May my life reflect Your faithfulness, and may Your name be exalted from generation to generation. Amen.
