Following Jesus Through the First Christmas: 25 Days of Advent Truths

DAY 25 OF 25

On that first Christmas, heaven met earth. The promise God made was fulfilled—Jesus came.

The shepherds saw the sky light up with praise. Mary held the Savior in her arms and took in the wonder of it all.

Hope had arrived.

Today, we celebrate that same hope.

The light that broke into the darkness still shines. The peace the angels announced still holds true. The Savior who came near is still with us.

And one day, He will come again—just as He said.

That promise gives us strength when life feels heavy and confidence when the world feels broken beyond repair.

The God who kept His word then will keep it again.

So as you celebrate today, let your joy look forward.

The story that began in the manger isn't over yet.

One day, the same Jesus who came to us in humility will come again in glory.

The ache we feel for a world made right, for peace that lasts, for joy that never fades—that longing will finally be fulfilled.

As sure as we are that He came once, we can trust He will come again.

Until that day, we live with steady hope and faithful hearts, following Him and helping others see the Light that has come and is coming still.

Pray:

Jesus, thank You for coming near. Thank You for bringing light into our darkness and peace into our chaos. Fill our hearts with joy today and keep our eyes on the promise of Your return. Help us live with hope that points others to You. Amen.

Talk about it:

What part of Jesus’ return fills you with the most hope? How can your family celebrate today with that hope in mind?

About this Plan

Following Jesus Through the First Christmas: 25 Days of Advent Truths

During a season that often feels busy and stretched thin, we invite you to pause and remember what matters most: following Jesus. The birth of Christ is more than a story we tell in December. It's the beginning of our Savior's life on earth — and the pattern for our own life with Him. Our prayer is that these 25 days prepare your heart to celebrate His birth, deepen your walk with Him today, and stir your hope for His return. We’ve also created a companion worship playlist – search “Following Jesus Through the First Christmas” on Spotify to listen.
