The Bible Made Simple [Overview]Sample

In this reading plan, you get to know the Big Picture of the Bible.

This Big Picture can be described like this:
The Bible reveals God’s plan to rescue humanity through Jesus Christ.

Here’s what we’ve seen so far:
✊ The Rebellion – How the problem begins
📜 The Law – The uncovering of the problem

Today, we will see the solution to our problem.

Our problem was that our rebellion disconnected us from God.

“It’s your sins that [disconnected] you from God.” (Isaiah 59:2, NLT)

For the problem to be fixed, we had to be reconnected to Him.

But we couldn’t fix the broken connection ourselves.

So Jesus—God in human form—came to save us from our rebellion and reconnect us to God.

“[Jesus] came […] to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)

He saved us by bearing the judgment that every rebellious human would have deserved: death.

When He died, the barrier of sin that disconnected us from God was removed.

Three days after He died, He rose again and is now the mediator between humans and God.

“There is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
(1 Timothy 2:5)

The problem is solved.

Humans now have a way to be reconnected to God and represent Him on earth again.

What do you have to do?

• Admit that you have rebelled against God and are disconnected from Him.
• Admit that you can’t solve your problem.
• Accept that Jesus solved it for you and put your trust in Him.

When will you do that?

Tomorrow:
We’ll see what God gave to overcome our problem.
For now, you can read what happened to Jesus at the cross.

Application:
How does it make you feel to know that Jesus carried your sins on the cross?
👉 What is one way you could thank Him for that today?

Prayer:
God,
Thank You for doing what I never could.
I see now that no amount of effort or goodness on my part could rescue me.
But You came and You took my place.
You carried my sins on the cross and opened the way back to You.
Thank You for loving me that much.
Help me never to forget what it cost.
