30 Day Battle-Ready Challenge - Leadership for Christian MenSample

Day 29: Lead with Humility
Reflection: If you’re not humble enough to serve, you’re not ready to lead.
I learned this firsthand from a mentor shortly after college when I stepped into my first role as a sales engineer. I was terrified. My lack of product knowledge crushed my confidence, and it showed.
My mentor noticed and didn’t ignore it. Instead, he invited me into his office for an exercise. He told me, “Let’s role-play,” but instead of confusing technical products, he chose something he knew I loved—a motorcycle. He became the salesman and walked me through the entire process, showing me how to connect and communicate in a way that made sense.
That experience changed everything. It gave me confidence, but more importantly, it showed me what true leadership looks like. My mentor wasn’t focused on himself—he was focused on serving me.
Here’s the reality: the world screams, “Look out for number one.” But that’s not God’s design for leadership. Battle-ready men know leadership isn’t about control—it’s about character. Humility is the posture God honors because humble leaders point people toward Him, not themselves.
So lead like Jesus. Influence through service. And remember—every day presents opportunities to put others first.
Mission: Serve others regardless of the personal cost. If that becomes your lens for leadership, the next steps will always be clearer.
Field Order: Where have you failed to lead with humility? Own it. Repent. Have an honest conversation with those affected—and course correct today.
