30 Day Battle-Ready Challenge - Leadership for Christian MenSample

Day 28: Make War on Sin
Reflection: Having a pet rattlesnake makes no sense—yet, I’ve treated sin that way before, acting as if it could never harm me.
It reminds me of those headlines about people keeping pet jaguars or other wild animals in their homes. They thought they could tame something inherently dangerous, and then we’re shocked when it turns on them. But if we’re honest, we do the same thing with sin. We think we can control it. We tell ourselves, “It’s not that bad.” Then it grows—and eventually, it bites.
The battle-ready man knows this: sin is not to be managed, minimized, or tolerated. It must be eradicated. Think about cutting your grass. It looks good for a little while, but the roots remain—and soon it grows back. Sin works the same way. You can’t just trim the surface. You have to destroy the root.
And here’s the hard truth: you can’t do it alone. Romans 8:13 reminds us it’s “by the Spirit” that we put sin to death. White-knuckling it on your own leads to frustration and failure. True victory comes when you surrender to God’s power, lean into His Word, and fight alongside brothers who will hold you accountable.
So today—don’t make peace with sin. Don’t pet it. Don’t feed it. Kill it.
Mission: Victory begins with recognition. You can’t fight a war you refuse to admit you’re in. Stop living in denial—own the battle.
Field Order: Name the sin that keeps circling back. Confess it to God. Share it with a trusted brother in Christ. Then take action—with prayer, accountability, and Spirit-led discipline.
Ok Warrior, it’s Gear Check time:
- What’s one area I need courage today?
- Who needs my encouragement right now?
- What truth has God shown me this week?
- Where am I tempted to check out?
Mission: Journal your answers. Pray through them. Choose one next step.
Field Order: Reset. Reload. Re-engage.
