35 Day Prayer PlanSample

Day 4 – God’s Kingdom in My Community
When Israel was exiled in Babylon, they longed to return home. Yet God’s instructions were surprising: instead of withdrawing or resisting, they were to pray for the peace and prosperity of the city where they lived. Even in a place that felt foreign, God called them to seek the good of their community.
This calling shows us that God’s kingdom isn’t limited to church walls; it extends into neighborhoods, workplaces, and cities. When God’s people pray and work for the good of their community, the kingdom begins to break through. Acts of kindness, advocacy for justice, and faithful prayer all contribute to the flourishing of the places we live.
Communities comprise people with fundamental economic, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. When we seek the kingdom in our cities, we become ambassadors of Christ’s love in practical ways. The gospel is not only proclaimed in words but also demonstrated through action.
Your presence in your community is not by accident. God has placed you there to be salt and light, showing His goodness and pointing others to Him.
Today, pray for your community, its leaders, schools, families, and future. Ask God to let His kingdom come in your city as it is in heaven.
