How to Grow in Self-ControlSample

If we want to reap the fruit of the Spirit, we need to sow to the Spirit. Since God is at work within us, we can and must work out our salvation. We can both pray and trust God to keep us from sin, and also take actions like burying God's word in our heart to keep ourselves from sin. Pick a practise that will help you develop self-control and dedicate it to God as worship today:
- An exercise routine
- Taking better care of your home or neighbourhood
- Memorise scripture (like Psalm 119:10-11, or Proverbs 25:28)
- Get more involved at church (more frequent attendance, joining a small group, or volunteering to serve)
- Find a mentor or accountability partner and practise frequent prayer, confession and bible study together
- Limit your screen time (try switching off phones in the evening) and replace it with community or hobbies
