DAY 1 OF 30

Creation

Book of Genesis

Welcome, friend. Thank you for taking this journey through the Scriptures with me. Over the next thirty days, we will see, in part, how God’s story is woven together—how biblical people and events fit into His plan. I call this joyful discipline “placing shelves in the closet,” a way of building a framework to hold the treasures of His Word.

Scripture is the voice of the Living God reaching for us. Each passage invites us to behold Him; each word opens a doorway to encounter Him. May the Holy Spirit, the Author of the Word, guide us step by step until we see not only the biblical story, but the God who is writing His story into our lives.

_______________________

~ Before there was time and earth—there was God in His fullness, ever-creative, relational, powerful, and loving.

Into the empty void, God spoke the heavens and the earth into being, unleashing light, awakening life, and expressing love through the power of His word. From His creative mind and heart, He formed systems that were orderly and beautiful. His magnum opus was the creation of Adam and Eve. Try to fathom with me… God desired relationship. He still does.

~ After forming Adam and Eve, God welcomed them into a breathtaking season of unhindered fellowship with Himself. He placed them in a garden overflowing with abundance, loveliness and purpose. Yet His greatest gift was His own dear Presence, walking with them in intimate, personal communion.

Significance

  • Everything has a beginning, but God Himself.
  • Receiving God, as Creator, is nonnegotiable in the Christian life. Consider with me: If God cannot create, He is not able to place His Son in Mary’s womb or raise His Son from the dead.
  • God has never stopped being creative. By placing His Spirit within each of us at our conversion, He transforms us into His image; we become His new creations.
  • When we express ourselves creatively, we are imitating our Father.

Scripture citations throughout this plan are from the English Standard Version (ESV).

About this Plan

Storyline

Just as shelves bring order to a closet, this Bible plan builds a powerful framework to clarify and connect our understanding of the events of the Bible as a whole. Each day becomes a shelf—organizing epic moments, unforgettable characters, the unfolding drama of God’s Word. Together, we will step into His unrelenting redemptive plan as our own story is woven into the Lord’s glorious plan.
