Sharing the Good News
Let your heart rejoice: the greatest powers that have ever oppressed humanity have been overcome by Jesus. Every evil we have harboured in our hearts, every secret shame that enslaved us, every stain has been removed by Jesus through his death. God loves us enough to send his Only Son to die so we can live. We are honoured by God with a purpose to fulfil in the power of his Spirit, to reign alongside Jesus, adopted into the family of God as co-heirs with Christ.
It is truly incredible. Is your soul rejoicing? This incredible message has reached your eyes and ears. Has it reached your heart? Have you answered God's call to believe, joyfully turning away from the empty things that formerly enslaved you to receive the riches of his love?
I hope so! Now, imagine if you had never heard that message. The joy you would be missing, the empty things you would still cling to, the halls of your heart still dusty and dark. The gospel is a truth that is revealed to us, not figured out by human wisdom or reason. You might rejoice to see the majesty of God displayed in the heavens, but you're not going to get a squirrel coming up to you and explaining the message of Jesus. Our demonstrations of love may illustrate the gospel but if you don't explain it, people will credit the love to you, not God! The message was revealed to us and now we can have the shame of hoarding it to ourselves, or the indescribable joy of sharing it with others.
Action
Do you feel able to concisely and clearly explain the message of Jesus? Try familiarising yourself with a simple outline (check the link on day 12). Ask a friend who doesn't believe to give you feedback on your summary. Ask them what they understood and if you used any religious language that was unclear.
Prayer
Pray for courage and words that you can make known the good news of Jesus, fearlessly, clearly and with power from the Holy Spirit.
Pray for your friends to understand and respond with faith.
Pray for the gospel to be preached with courage, clarity and power in every nation, to all people.
About this Plan

You wouldn’t force a whole packet of biscuits in someone’s mouth; you would offer them one biscuit at a time. We would like to think the same principle applies when it comes to sharing your faith. This twelve day reading plan (inspired by The Biscuit Trail resource) will help you think through easy steps you can take to help others discover Jesus for the first time.
