INTRODUCTION TO SECTION ONE: HUSBANDS AND FATHERS Respect, strength, and stability are the essence of masculinity. The Lord uses man's role of father as a metaphor in the Bible in order to communicate his power and love for us. In the Old Testament, God's blessing to his faithful men was to make them ancestors of Jesus. In our times, a Christian man who fulfills his role is blessed with stability. But sin has a way of damaging everything. Immaturity, laziness, and a lack of leadership and/or compassion are a few of the traits some men may bring into marriages and families that can cause lasting harm. Men, it's time to stand up and take pride in our God-given roles. Let's be husbands and fathers after Jesus' own heart.
