A Word to the WiseSample

Knowledge and Understanding
Are you engaging with your mind to hear others?
Do you understand that which you have knowledge of?
We gain knowledge and understanding by hearing, and Scripture also says we gain faith by hearing, which is an interesting correlation.
The danger of tuning out someone speaking is that it doesn’t stop the person from speaking, but robs you of learning something new.
It does not take long for life to teach us how to pervert our words. This should make us be careful about what we say, and if we do not hear carefully enough and gain knowledge and understanding, we speak too quickly. There is life and death in the power of the tongue.
Having knowledge and wisdom is great, but understanding is what allows it to set and all come together.
The fear of man is a trap; fearing God is the proof that we have understanding. The fear of man produces death, and it keeps you silent; it fosters excuses. The fear of the Lord, however, produces life.
Our prayer for you today is that the fear of the Lord will be present in your life, and that you will be quick to hear and slow to speak, so that you may gain knowledge and from that knowledge, understanding.
