Day 2: Finding God in Nature
Psalm 23 is one of the most famous chapters in the Bible, written by King David. David was a shepherd who knew firsthand how to guide and protect sheep. He compares God’s care for us to that of a shepherd leading his flock to peaceful waters. This imagery reminds us that God knows exactly what we need to feel refreshed and restored, and He leads us to those places if we follow Him.
Nature has always been my refuge. Whether I’m standing by the ocean, climbing a mountain, or just sitting in the backyard, I feel renewed. It’s in these moments of stillness and beauty that I hear God’s voice.
Not everyone has the time or ability to take a full week off to get away, and that’s okay. God meets us right where we are. Even stepping outside for a few minutes can refresh your spirit and remind you of His presence.
If you can, spend a few moments outdoors today. Look around and notice something beautiful that God created. Take a deep breath, thank Him, and let the stillness renew you.
