God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 2)Sample

Colossians – Day 2
When Paul wrote to the churches in Colossae and Laodicea, he was particularly concerned about the way they mixed the gospel of Jesus with other popular philosophies of the day—mysticisms, self-denial, and others. As though Jesus’s death on the cross were not enough to pay for their sin, they tacked on other requirements, just to be sure.
Paul’s purpose throughout Colossians is to explain clearly how Jesus is the one true God, His death on the cross saved us completely, and nothing is required of us except to believe in Him and surrender to His Lordship.
What are we relying on to save us? Politics? Special diets? A new identity? The truth is that we all need Jesus, Jesus is all we need. He is the only one who can save us from the hell we deserve.
