PRAYING THAT GOD WOULD RAISE UP PEOPLE TO SERVE
Prayer is always a powerful thing, and there are some special areas that the Bible tells us to pray for. In the gospels, Jesus tells us to pray for something dear to His heart. Jesus' love for the lost is so great that He was willing to go to the cross for them, but they need to hear and receive. In Luke 10:2, Jesus tells us, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." We get to pray and join with God in the recruiting of laborers to reach the lost and lift the broken, those that will be the hands and the feet of Jesus. We can pray it in general and in the places and around the people that you long to see God move. We can pray that God would bring people who would be God's hands and feet to deliver His word and draw them toward Him. Here are some of the ways that you can pray:
- Pray for God to raise up and send out laborers (Luke 10:2)
- Pray that God would raise up people to love, to give, to boldly be salt in our family, church, job, city, country, and world.
- Pray that they would have eyes to see the opportunities around them. (John 4:35)
- Pray that they would have the boldness to step out and let God use them. (Acts 4:29-31)
- Pray that they wouldn’t let the opportunities pass them by. (John 4:35)
- Pray that they and we would be willing to be the ones God uses. (Isaiah 6:8)
