Singing God's Word With the Elliott'sSample

Imagine that you’re in a battle; you run up to God, and He pulls you behind His shield. Your heart rate begins to slow, and you catch your breath.
Sometimes, when we make bad choices, we avoid running to God, thinking we need to “get right” first. But Christ already died while we were sinners (Rom. 5:8), so let’s practice bringing God into our negative spaces when we feel guilty or ashamed.
“God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield to all who look to Him for protection.” Psalm 18:30 NLT
Family Tip:
Pick one family member to pretend he or she is a shield. Then, have everyone else get behind the shield and imagine what it would feel like to be protected by God’s shield.
Reflection Questions:
When has God been a shield to you?
How has God been a shield to you?
