Finding True PeaceSample

Does good advice bring peace?
When we isolate and try to figure things out on our own, we create an inward maelstrom that affects everyone around us. This is not peaceful.
But when we stop and recognize that asking for help and heeding the advice of those we trust is for our good, then the storm inside can quiet. We are better able to love and lead, to be the presence others need us to be when it matters.
We desperately need the sound advice of those who have walked before us. There are simply too many life experiences for us to know how to handle them all.
It’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help and advice. It’s a sign of wisdom and coming growth.
Act
Make a list of people you trust and the types of wisdom they can offer. Keep it handy for when the storm inside begins.
Pray
God, thank you for giving me those who have gone before. Please continue to put people in my life who can offer sound advice.

About this Plan

If there is one thing this world never offers us, it’s lasting peace. The peace you need, the kind that’s lasting and deep and eternal, is only available by believing in Jesus who died on the cross to bring us close to God. In him you'll find true, lasting, perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).
