Finding True PeaceSample

Mission control, come in?
As a child, I watched a cartoon called The Jetsons that had self-driving cars. Later, when I was commuting on the jam-packed highways, I would daydream about it. I would have used that time to go over notes for a meeting or read a book or—let’s be honest—take a nap. Doesn’t that sound great?
While it’s no small thing to let the Holy Spirit control your thoughts, it is possible. It feels like what I imagine a self-driving car would feel like: relief. It’s turning over the never-ending thoughts and problem-solving to a driver much more capable.
Where do we start? We ask the Holy Spirit for help. We learn to disrupt thoughts that lead nowhere good and replace those with truths of God’s promises. It’s something we all have to practice, and it’s well worth it.
Act
Watch a rerun of The Jetsons just for fun.
Pray
God, my mind can get pretty messy. Help me clean it up and let the Spirit take over.

About this Plan

If there is one thing this world never offers us, it’s lasting peace. The peace you need, the kind that’s lasting and deep and eternal, is only available by believing in Jesus who died on the cross to bring us close to God. In him you'll find true, lasting, perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).
