Start the Party - High SchoolSample

Jesus’ words in this passage tell us many things. One thing to point out is that Jesus offers full life as a gift. This is the opposite of what the thief does. A thief steals or takes something from us. But Jesus came to give us the gift of life to the full. A giver doesn’t have to give; they choose to give. When we realize Jesus gifted us with a full life, we can say, “thank you for the life only You could give me.” Two fun ideas for how you can memorize this verse:
- You can use a design app on your phone or even the Bible App and make a verse graphic that matches your iPhone aesthetic and put it as your background on your phone.
- Once you get a pretty good idea about the passage, you can start timing yourself to see how fast you can write it down. Do this a couple of times during your time with God and see if you can beat your previous best time.
Why it’s important to memorize Scripture:
- When we memorize scripture, we can carry the Bible in our minds anywhere and everywhere we go. This allows us to apply a specific Bible passage to whatever situation we find ourselves in.
- When we try to memorize scripture, God can use it in many different ways. We may be able to encourage someone with a passage or be reminded of what God says about a situation we experience.
