Five: Wind Mover Devotional

DAY 4 OF 5

### Move of the Holy Spirit I love the Holy Spirit. I have grown and come to know the Holy Spirit from an ‘it’ to a He. The Holy Spirit is not an object(it), the Holy Spirit is a person(He), the third person of the trinity - God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God at work. He is God’s hands on earth. Anything that God wants to do in this world and on this planet, it is done through His Spirit. We know this from the second verse in the first chapter of Genesis; “...And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” But the Spirit never acts alone, in fact He does not do or say anything unless He hears it first, as explained by Jesus in John 14:26 & 16:13-15. So in Genesis 1:3 when it says; “Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” God the Father said it first through God the Son - Jesus Christ(who we know is the Word from John 1:1-18) - the Spirit of God hears it and repeats it. The trinity - God three in one - is of itself a mystery and would take a lot longer than a simple section within a devotional to even begin to attempt to fully explain it (and a mind greater than any ever known to full comprehend it). So the Spirit of God who does not act alone or of His own accord, is God at work on earth. When the Holy Spirit gets to work in the atmosphere or in a person, there is no one that can stop the events that unfold from the effects of His work and presence. The Holy Spirit is an unstoppable force outside of nature causing the impossible to occur again and again. And just like the wind (John 3:8), He goes wherever, He moves whenever, He does whatever and He will influence whoever - again as no one can direct the wind, no one can dictate who He uses and when He uses them, or even how He uses them. He is the catalyst to the transformative power of God within any person, aiding and abetting us in taking the old man off and putting the new man on. He gives us a new way of thinking, changing our attitude towards God and our outlook on life, and helping us form new habits and killing the old unproductive ones that would lead us to death. When we give our lives to Christ, we aren't left alone to fend for ourselves (John 14:18) in this new life of light and love, in a dark and dreadful world. The Holy Spirit is our Helper and Comforter and in our obedience and surrender He will navigate us through the difficulties of living a life for Christ in a world living completely contrary to Christ.
