The Devil’s Plans are Destroyed Jesus came to destroy the devil, his power, sin, its consequences and all his plans for you. On the cross, Jesus disarmed the enemy, made a public spectacle of him and triumphed over him (Colossians 2:15). You may still be experiencing his works—sickness, weakness, lack, poverty, strife, confusion, failure, addictions. But these are all lies of the enemy. All that Satan can do is deceive the people of God. He likes to intimidate and cause you to fear. He prowls around like a roaring lion looking for those whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), those who will believe his lies. But remember, Jesus said, the devil is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44). Very often when things are not going well in our lives, we are tempted to blame God, making Him responsible for all the bad things that happen. Sometimes, these could be consequences of our own wrong choices. But know for sure that God loves you. His plans for you are good, and every intention of His for you is to prosper you, not to harm you. We are told, in Acts 10:38, that when Jesus walked on the earth, He went about doing good. He still does good; He hasn’t changed. Hallelujah! The next time you become aware of the enemy’s tactics, coming to oppress, depress and discourage you, be aware of where it is coming from. Don’t give the enemy credit by making him bigger and tougher than he is. Do what the Word says. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:7b-8a). Beloved, you can live a life of abundance that Christ died to give you. It is His will that you prosper and be in good health just as your soul prospers. Declaration On the cross, Jesus destroyed all the power and works of the enemy in my life. No harm can come to me. I am living a life of abundance in Jesus.
