Growing on the Frontline: A Prayer JourneySample

Practise – the way to keep growing
Lord, give me today my daily bread. As I reflectively ‘chew’ on the events of today and my reactions, may they provide nourishment for my spiritual growth.
Our thoughts and behaviours today lay the foundation for our life tomorrow. As Auschwitz survivor Edith Eger writes in The Gift, ‘Change is synonymous with growth. To grow, you’ve got to evolve instead of revolve.’ In our busy world, it is easy to simply revolve through the tasks and routines that comprise our weeks and years. God’s Spirit is the motivating force bringing life and growth. We have a choice to cooperate with or resist His action in our lives. The prayer tools offered in Growing on the Frontline are designed to help us to grow when intentionally practised. With God’s help, let’s evolve, grow, and bear much fruit!

About this Plan

This prayer journey is designed to help you grow closer to God and become more like Christ. To do this, we will reflect on the trials and triumphs you face each day – spotting opportunities to partner with God in bringing about His purposes, and overcoming our inner barriers to action by developing healthy habits and practices.
