Please ExplainSample

One of the things we look forward to when we grow up is measuring how tall we are. It's common to see doorposts in people's homes that measure how much someone grew over time. There might be competition and excitement as kids see how they grew and measured up with other siblings. The world is obsessed with growth — we have self-help books, podcasts, and even coaches, all aimed at helping us grow from where we currently are to something else. Let's see if the Bible has to say anything about growth.
The verses for today are how every person who follows Jesus should live a life that loves God and others. If we commit to living this life here on this Earth, we are "growing the kingdom of God." This kingdom is present in our lives now, and as people who follow Jesus, we to help grow the kingdom by loving others.
Think about ways you can commit to growing the kingdom of God by loving God and others this week. Where might it be difficult, and what would be easy to do?

About this Plan

Some things are hard to understand — like chemistry or verb conjugations. When we face a problem we're struggling to understand, it helps to know someone we trust can explain it to us. Jesus spent time helping his followers understand difficult ideas about God. Jesus did this by using stories and metaphors, called parables. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum we’ll unpack Jesus’ teachings.
