Prayers: A Journey Through Eurasia

DAY 4 OF 14

[IMAGE CONTENT] # Praying for Central Eurasia Every year, 200 women gather in a hotel in Turkey for a women’s ministry conference. The women come from all over the Silk Road – most of the countries ending in “stan” – and enjoy a week of training and soaking in God’s presence. For many of these women, the hotel conference room is filled with more believers than they have ever seen in one room before. The conference is translated into 17 different languages to accommodate the many different nations. Many women from Central Eurasia are from nations broken by years of dictatorship, ethnic conflict, or Soviet rule. While some of their countrymen enjoy wealth from oil or other natural resources, most of Central Eurasia lives in abject poverty. The majority of women have been abused or abandoned by husbands who are alcoholics or drug addicts. Nearly every country in Central Eurasia lists drug addiction as its primary concern, followed by unemployment and poverty. Human trafficking is prevalent, as well. The governments of Central Eurasia have yet to understand the value of a Christian presence in their nations and severely restrict the Church from meeting together or evangelizing. Followers of Jesus face beatings, rape, imprisonment, exile, and even death. Despite all of this, the Church is growing. Some countries, like Iran, are experiencing a tremendous outpouring of the Holy Spirit, with more coming to faith in the last decade than in the last two thousand years combined. ### Pray for Central Eurasia: * Pray for salvation to be preached in every village and city in Central Eurasia. Pray for all to be reached by the Father’s love. * Pray for believers to be strengthened in the Word, faith, and boldness –in the face of persecution. Pray for biblical training for church leaders where it is not available. * Pray for workers to be called and equipped to serve in Central Eurasia. Pray for open doors and creative access to those who have never heard the gospel. * Pray for freedom from the cycles of political violence, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol addiction, and human trafficking. Pray that broken societies and families will be restored by the wholeness only Christ can bring. * Pray for government leaders to see the value of Christian presence in their nations and to abandon policies that lead to the persecution of the Church.
