Discover Jesus

DAY 9 OF 24

## Week 2 - Day 3 ### Open-hearted Faith | Read This parable poses a great question. What am I actually looking for? Deep down, am I ready to discover God’s plan for my life? Because it’s easy to start exploring the life and message of Jesus and then go back to life as it always was - with very little real change. Only some people who discover Jesus, have a heart that is receptive enough to become genuine followers. Only some people ‘lean in’ to a relationship with him. It’s far easier to sit back with a kind of detached and almost critical attitude. But we will never experience the life-changing power of Jesus unless we come close and listen with a heart that is ready to be taught something new. Read more... Mark 4:1-34 ### Questions | Reflect & Respond What kind of soil is the best description of my heart attitude: * Am I like rocky soil - excited but not really committed yet? * Am I overgrown soil - interested but not invested yet, not fully committed? * Or am I good soil - open-hearted, excited about the beginning of this adventure? What's stopping me from opening up my heart? ### Discovering Real Relationship | Pray What Jesus offers each of us is a new family to belong to, a new hope for the future, and a new purpose for each day. The only limiting factor is our own hearts. Today is a good time to think about having a real conversation with God about where you are at, what you are ready for, and what you are still unsure about. Praying is a big part of ‘leaning into’ Jesus. The start of a genuine relationship is being courageous enough to have an honest conversation with a God you cannot see. Praying is one of the ways we can begin to discover how real and available God is. You see, God is delighted when we take that step of faith and make time to have a conversation with him.
