Discover Jesus

DAY 12 OF 24

## Week 2 - Day 6 ### A Culture Of Compassion | Read It’s so encouraging to see how Jesus’ Kingdom is shaped by compassion. Jesus wasn’t looking for people that He could recruit to support His ambitions. He devoted himself to caring for and meeting the needs of every individual who looked to Him for direction and purpose. Time after time, Jesus looked at the crowds and was moved to help them, to heal them, to teach them the truth about God and faith. The community that Jesus invites us into, is built on a culture of compassion and generosity. Jesus doesn’t need you to endorse Him or support His cause. In fact, the foundation of your relationship with God is love. A love that offers forgiveness, freedom, and purpose; a love that sees what you need and cares about your vulnerability. The more you discover the love of God through Jesus, the more secure you become, and the more you are able to care for others with His compassion. Read more... Mark 6:6-56 ### Questions | Reflect & Respond Who are the people in my world, who I can see need Jesus in their lives? What does it look like to truly care for their needs? ### Seeing What God Sees | Pray As we get to know Jesus better, one of the things that can happen is that we start to see people differently. It’s natural to measure people based on how they live up to my expectations and how they meet my needs. But the more we experience God’s love, the more we start to grow in compassion. It’s good to ask God to help you understand just how much he loves you- because when we know we are loved, we are able to love others. Why don’t you also ask God to help you see people how He sees them. It can be a big journey processing the way we see those who have hurt us. But over time, as we become more mature in our faith, we will learn to see people more and more the way Jesus sees them.
