## Week 2 - Day 2 ### Drawing Close To Jesus | Read In the section that we're reading today, we see a crowd gathering because they’re curious about Jesus. But, if we look a little more carefully, we see Mark describe a picture where there are some who have pressed in close and are sitting around Jesus listening and learning. What Jesus says to this group in verses 34 and 35 is beautiful. He encourages the women and men who were leaning in with these words. “Do you want to know who my real family is? You guys are my mother and brothers. If you follow God’s plan for your life, then you are my family”. Jesus honors those who have put getting to know Him first. That’s what this course is all about, making some space to draw close - to lean in. These words are what Jesus has to say to everyone who invests in getting to know Him. ### Questions | Reflect & Respond Why did the religious leaders and Jesus’ own family miss who He is? How can I be different and really ‘lean in’ to a relationship with Jesus? ### Praying For The New Fam | Pray Jesus said that when we start to trust God’s plan for our lives we are welcomed into a new family. Others might not get it, they might not even be able to see who we are becoming once we’ve discovered Jesus, but that’s ok - plenty of people didn’t get who Jesus was either. It does mean that meeting with our new "brothers and sisters" is important. Because following Jesus is about doing life as a family, with a whole community of Jesus followers. Why don’t you thank God for your new friends and family? It would be encouraging to list some of your new friends, and then, pray for each of them and any of their needs that you're aware of.
