## SEX IS A FIRE The conception that the Bible paints a stiff, technical image of sex is convincingly contradicted in the Song of Solomon. No matter how many attempts have been made to prove that it's all symbolic or solely a description of God's love for his people, it’s undoubtedly describing a steaming, passionate love affair between the groom and his bride. They can hardly stop themselves in their desire to one another showing what a force sex is, like a fire. Fire is the source of some of humanity's most important inventions laying the foundation of prosperity and welfare. We can cook our food and heat our homes. At the same time it has given rise to numerous tragedies. One small candle can inflame an entire house within minutes. Fire igniting explosive materials is mortal and every year great fires ravage the earth. The distinction between fire bringing wealth or destruction is if it has boundaries or not. Unchecked it will devour everything crossing its path. Similarly sex without boundaries can harm and wound leaving plundered bodies, broken souls and abandoned children and mothers behind. Today it’s a lot of talk of sexually transmitted diseases. Perhaps we should talk more about sexually transfered wounds of the soul. God knows all of this creating a secure and safe place where sex can be the source of joy and life he intended. Have you set up boundaries around your sexuality?
